Triquizard Tournament 2011 – 3 quiz league at the Druid Inn, Llanferres
The much awaited re-run of the popular quiz series took place in the last week of September and a pleasant stroll home in a tshirt added to the pleasure. Not quite your traditional pub quiz with questions aimed to suit everyone. Quizmasters are the News & View Magazine team and the quiz raises funds for the free newsletter. Don’t forget the Druid are putting on a special quizzers menu if you can’t think on an empty stomach.

School Half Term Kitchen Chaos Oct 2011
Like Xmas, half term is coming fast, are you struggling to find things to keep the kids busy, heard of Loggerheads Country Park but worried is it too cold and wet now? No fear you can still go and Caffi Florence are holding some cook in sessions aimed at kids to teach them basic ideas of how to cook their own nutritious and filling food without flooding the kitchen or setting the fire alarm off. Hillfort Moonglow 5 Dec 2010
On the evening of the 5th December 2010 the Heather & Hillforts and Habitats & Hillforts projects have a bit of a hillfort get together. The idea is to station groups of hardy and keen volunteers on the top of many of the hillforts littering the locality and across Cheshire.

URGENT NOTICE re tap water quality in Llanferres
News flash from Welsh Water: due to the discovery of bacteria in water at the Llyn Alwen Water Treatment Works during routine quality tests. Welsh Water advise all water from taps for drinking or cooking should be boiled on a precautionary basis whilst the matter is investigated. There is no evidence that any illness has yet arisen. Llyn Alwen supplies water to 70000 households and businesses in Denbighshire and Flintshire.
